EFFECTIVE WEB COMMUNICATION
Today most of us as “buyers” begin by asking a friend or at a search engine. For web search the top three links are the most critical.
On arriving at a site the first 12.5 seconds is the most critical – where’s the relevant information?
The key to effective web communication is to deliver relevant answers quickly and engage your visitor.
The aim is to get cut through, have a bit of fun, make an impression and stand out from the crowd – It’s Seth Godin’s Purple Cow approach.
- Promote your website address easy to remember, say/ spell and spread and relevant?
- The ideal is to have the search term within your website address
- Embed your website address in your marketing collateral – eg “bring your website alive with CLIVE”, “Maximise your web with Maxys”.
- Use CLIVE to direct users to key areas

The future of the Internet is video – it is estimated 95% of Australia’s new proposed National Broadband Network (NBN) traffic will be video.
You will find video will become increasingly important to effective communication – not just locally but in targeting potential international customers.

The average across all our client video clips is 4% – about 10x more effective than conventional banners and click through images.
We also launched a Youtube version on the clip as an attractor.
IN THE PIPELINE
REAL ESTATE CLIVE
Last Monday we shot 15 x CLIVE 15 second clips and 3 x customer testimonial interviews on location for a Real Estate client in Wollongong. Each optimised page within their website will feature a meet and greet clip by the relevant Real Estate Agent. The aim of the clips is to put a face to the agent, build trust and reinforced by customer testimonials.
Website to go live in July.
PRODUCT DEMONSTRATION CLIVE
Last Friday we shot our first CLIVE product demonstration clips. We managed to take a five minute product demonstration and cut that down to very sharp, effective one minute scripts and demos. Production to go live in next few weeks. Customer attention is scarce – value their time.
E-BOOKS ALIVE with CLIVE
I remember first looking at e-book technology over 15 years ago – concept was great but ahead of it’s time. Then Adobe released PDF’s which fundamentally changed the creation and distribution of documents online but. in essence still much the same – just text, graphics and hyperlinks.
All changed now – E-Books now alive with CLIVE (and video) – will keep you posted.
Stratbiz Services – meet our latest CLIVE Sales Partner Danita Murdoch, CEO of Statbiz Services. Danita comes out of Telstra and corporates such as 3M and Mac Bank. StratBiz Services provides Strategic Marketing Services to Corporate clients.
Last but not least, a plug for the video production engine of CLIVE and Max Media – the new CLIVE clip for the guys at RidgeFilms. You’ll notice we’re doing a lot more 1/2 body clips – we’re finding these are very effective.
